Ramallah – October 30: The Palestinian Working Woman Society for Development (PWWSD) finished delivering agricultural production supplies (Assaf sheep and cattle feed) to beneficiaries of the Rural Women’s Cooperatives project for empowering women’s economic participation. The project works with 7 women from Tulkarim, Ramallah, Bethlehem, and Hebron in addition to the Beit Sira Women’s Society in Ramallah. The aim is to run integrated production units that empower women economically.
This comes as a continuation of the Rural Women’s Cooperatives project implemented in Ramallah and Tulkarim with 3 women’s cooperatives, as well as 10 recipients of small business grants all over the West Bank. The project is supported by the German Adult Education Association (DVV), and funded by GIZ.
The production supplies were delivered to beneficiaries who presented detailed business proposals, followed by a study and need-assessment process by the project’s technical and financial team. These activities come as part of PWWSD’s goals to empower women economically and raise their awareness and advocacy for their civil and legal rights.
