Sahar Arar, from Qarawa village.
“I got married early and had 5 children. Then my husband passed away, and my children and I had no one to provide for us. I decided to continue my education after an 18-year break. I finished my college studies with my children. Then I joined the social work field, in addition to running a kindergarten in my village, and forming the Qarawa Women’s Forum.
I was elected head of the Union of Workers in Kindergartens, and I work to empower women economically, politically, and socially through my connections to local community organizations. I also promote voluntary work and participate in all its activities. My goal is to improve women’s situation in my village, and to become a woman capable of participating in all facets of life and taking part in the development process.”
